Evans Noted for Nursing Style
Soap Opera Weekly, April 23, 1991
After nearly five years of tending sick souls in Salem as DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ Kayla Brady Johnson, R.N., Mary Beth Evans is finally being recognized for her comparable bedside manner. Evans has recently been named the 1991 recipient of the Delano Regional Medical Center’s Nursing Image Award.
Every year, the Delano, California hospital’s bedside nurses program honors a positive media role model who serves as an inspiration for today’s nursing professionals. Past honorees read as a Who’s Who in TV nursing: Christina Pickles of ST. ELSEWHERE, Lee Remick of JESSIE, Dana Delany of CHINA BEACH and Park Overall OF EMPTY NEST.
The hospital noted Kayla’s devotion and dedication to both her family and career, and her ongoing struggle to juggle both. Kayla has also been running the local free clinic in the poorer part of Salem.
Evans was presented with her special award April 8 at DAYS’ Burbank Studio Complex.
